About Koh Tao
Koh Tao (Turtle Island) is situated in the Gulf of Thailand, and at 21 km², is the smallest island in the chain that includes Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, and Ang Thong Marine Park to the south. The island is lush and mountainous, covered primarily by coconut forest and granite boulders, surrounded by turquoise tropical waters and ringed with dive sites.
We are located in Chalok, to the south of the island. Chalok is quieter and more laid-back than either Sairee or Mae Haad, but only 2km from everywhere, or just a few minutes by scooter. We've got a lovely beach for lazy afternoon sunbathing, and plenty of delicious restaurants and cozy little beach bars around. There are also spas, shops, tattoo parlours, laundry facilities, kayak rentals, beautiful hikes, snorkelling with Blacktip sharks and turtles at Shark Bay and plenty of other activities around to keep you occupied when you are not underwater or on your yoga mat!
Accommodation
Koh Tao offers a wide range of options for backpackers, budget travellers, families or those looking for more upscale resorts.

Getting To Koh Tao
Koh Tao is easily accessed from the mainland via Chumphon, by inter-island ferries from Samui and Phangan, or via Surat Thani if coming from the south. From Bangkok, you have the option of either flying to Surat Thani, Samui or Chumphon, and then taking the ferry from there, or taking a bus/train to Chumphon and then hopping on the boat. If you're unsure what choice to take, our advice is to take the Lomprayah bus + ferry company for speed and comfort.
